Parents frequently ask, how do I choose a Martial Arts School for my children? Parents looking for martial arts classes for their children need to consider much more than just the cost or the style of martial art. Here are a few important points to consider, whether you choose East West Martial Arts or any other Martial Arts School.
It’s not the style of the martial art you practice that’s important; it’s the instructor who can inspire and educate your children that’s important.
When visiting any prospective martial arts schools you should observe a class in action. All good instructors will let you watch a training session, especially classes for children. And if they don’t – the best advice is to look for another martial arts school for your children.
While watching a class, observe the interaction between the students and instructors very carefully. Students should seem happy and motivated, with plenty of smiling, sweating and learning going on.
The classes should be well structured, professional and well run. The classes should also be taught by experienced Black Belt instructors, who have been trained to work with children.
It’s important to realise that there are no ‘bad’ martial arts, just ‘poor’ instructors. It’s the instructor who can inspire, motivate and excite their students, especially children, who can teach very powerful and valuable lessons.
This is because they have the ‘Power of Influence’ to transform students attitudes, behaviour’s and character. Children emerge from our age-specific Children’s classes transformed and changed for the better and parents couldn’t be happier.
